Message I posted in tech recently about a new rattle in my engine, I've had a friend mechanic take a look, and he confirmed my fears, yep, it's a wristpin. Not at all what I was hoping for. It's been recommended to baby it and put some heavy oil in it. So what now? I need to get my car back reliable. This summer I'll be back working full time, so If I can limp it until then, I should be able to afford to do a halfway decent job of fixing this. If I can find a decent NA bottom end or long block, that'd be fine. But holy crap do I want to do a TT swap. I know a swap is a handful, I've been researching it for 5 years now. I'd planned to wait till I was done with school to do it once I could afford to swap with a bunch of mods.
I've been looking through the classifieds for motors, I've got a couple extra sets of heads that i could clean up to go on a good shortblock if i can find one cheap, but If I'm going to be spending a pile of money, I don't think I can justify getting another NA motor. And I'm not sure my roommate will met me do anything but a tt swap.
Comments? Anyone have an NA motor they need to get rid of?
